DOVER, Del. (AP) — Jake Duncan scored 19 points, including the 3-pointer that sent the game into overtime, as New Jersey Institute of Technology came from behind to edge Delaware State 65-59 on Monday.

Trailing most of the game, NJIT (9-3) tied it up in the final minutes with a 13-6 run capped by Duncan’s 3-pointer that made it 49-all at end of regulation. The Highlanders then scored five unanswered points in the first 2 minutes of OT to take their first lead of the game, which they protected down the stretch.

Ky Howard contributed 13 points, Damon Lynn added 12, Terrence Smith had 11 and nine rebounds, and Coleman had 10 points for NJIT. The Highlanders hit just 17 of 54 from the field but drained eight 3-pointers — a half dozen more than Delaware State.

Kendall Gray led Delaware State (4-15) with 14 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.
