NEW YORK (AP) — Apprentice jockey Taylor Rice won four races at Aqueduct on Monday, including the $62,000 allowance feature aboard Abra.
Rice guided the 6-year-old gelding to a 514-length win over Bear’s Spirit. The victory was a family affair. Abra is trained by Linda Rice, Taylor’s aunt.
Abra, 2-5 favorite, earned his fourth win in 14 starts, paying $2.90, $2.30 and $2.10. The time was 1:05.05 for the 512 furlongs on the fast track.
Bear’s Spirit returned $3.20 and $2.20 while Sokitumi Samurai paid $2.10 to show.
