Alcorn State takes down Alabama A&M 70-64 in OT

LORMAN, Miss. (AP) — LeAntwan Luckett scored 21 points, on 8-of-12 shooting, as Alcorn State beat Alabama A&M 70-64 in overtime after blowing a 13-point second half lead on Monday night.

Octavius Brown scored 15 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and Marquis Vance added 12 points, eight boards for Alcorn State (8-12, 5-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference).

It was a battle of the halves as Alcorn State built a 34-21 lead at halftime, but were outscored 36-23 in the second half. Alcorn State scored the first five points of overtime, highlighted by Luckett’s three-point play.

Brandon Ellis’ basket pulled A&M to 66-64 with 57 seconds left, but Alcorn State made 4 of 6 free throws in the final 30 seconds to seal it.

Alabama A&M (6-11, 3-4) got 14 points apiece from Justan Banks and Ellis. Jeremy Crutcher had his shot blocked by Brown at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.
