A group of 500 runners and walkers are registered for the 24th-annual Vancouver Lake Half Marathon, which takes place on Sunday.
The Clark County Running Club event starts at 10 a.m. at Vancouver Lake Park. There is no day-of-race registration.
A popular winter race, the half marathon often attracts competitive runners who are interested in testing their fitness level at a time of year when their are few races to enter.
The 425 who finished last year’s race was a record for the event.
The Clark County Running Club’s major event each year, the half marathon helps fund the running clubs college scholarship program.
