MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Brad Waldow scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Saint Mary’s rolled to an 89-61 victory Saturday over Loyola Marymount.
Waldow scored eight points in the first 6 minutes as Saint Mary’s jumped to an 18-point halftime lead and never trailed. Waldow made 11 field goals, tying a career-best. He was also 5 of 5 from the line.
Kerry Carter and Jordan Giusti each added 15 points for Saint Mary’s (16-5, 6-2 West Coast Conference). Stephen Holt had seven assists for the Gaels, who have won four straight.
Gabe Levin scored to pull Loyola Marymount within 44-33 with 15:40 to play. The Lions would go nearly 7 minutes before scoring another field goal when Levin’s jumper made it 66-41 with 9:19 to play. Levin and Anthony Ireland each scored 17 points to lead Loyola Marymount (11-11, 3-7).
