PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Miles Jackson-Cartwright and Tony Hicks both scored 23 points as Pennsylvania blew past NJIT 89-74 in a non-conference game on Saturday night.

Jackson-Cartwright and Hicks were both 4 of 6 from long range while Darien Nelson-Henry had 10 points and 11 rebounds and Fran Dougherty scored 10 points with 10 rebounds for the Quakers.

Penn (4-11, 1-0 Ivy League) never trailed in the game, opening a 15-4 lead over NJIT in the first half on a Jackson-Cartwright 3-point play and extending the margin to 15 points by intermission, 47-32.

The Quakers scored just four points in the first 5:41 of the second half but NJIT (8-13) still couldn’t get closer than 14 points in that stretch.

Penn was allowed 42 trips to the free throw line, landing 35 of those attempts.
