YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Javarez Willis hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 28 seconds to play as Ohio rallied for a 58-56 victory over Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
Ohio trailed the entire game before Willis’ big basket, which capped a 12-0 run. The Bobcats were behind 55-46 with 4:20 left. Nick Kellogg also made a 3-pointer during the run and Josh Smith and Maurice Ndour both made two baskets. Ndour’s last make tied the game at 55 with 1:36 remaining.
Stevie Taylor led Ohio (14-5, 4-2 Mid-American Conference) with 14 points. Kellogg and Willis added 12 apiece for the Bobcats. Willis made a season-high four 3-pointers on the day.
Eastern Michigan (11-8, 3-3) was paced by Glenn Bryant with 14 points and Karrington Ward added 13.
Ward was fouled with 11 seconds left, made 1 of 2 from the line, but the ball went out of bounds on his second miss.
