RUSTON, La. (AP) — Alex Hamilton scored 24 points and Kenyon McNeail added 22 as Louisiana Tech routed Marshall 98-77 on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs (17-4, 5-1 Conference USA) raced to a 17-2 lead en route to scoring 57 first-half points and winning their ninth game out of their last 10. All five of Louisiana Tech’s conference wins have been by at least 20 points.
Louisiana Tech shot 52.2 percent from the field. Kenneth Smith and Jaron Johnson each scored 17 points. Smith also had 13 assists. Hamilton was 10 of 18 from the field while Johnson was 8 of 11 and McNeail was 7 of 11.
Ryan Taylor led Marshall (7-14, 1-5) with 17 points and 11 assists. The Thundering Herd committed 22 turnovers.
