Coastal Carolina defeats Radford 69-61

RADFORD, Va. (AP) — Elijah Wilson scored 22 points as Coastal Carolina defeated Radford 69-61 on Saturday.

Warren Gillis added 16 points and Josh Cameron 14 for Chanticleers (11-9, 4-2 Big South), while El Hadji Ndieguene grabbed 10 rebounds.

Rashun Davis was the leading scorer for the Highlanders (13-8, 3-3) with 16 points. Ya Ya Anderson added 15 and Javonte Green 14. Green also blocked four shots.

The Chanticleers had a decided edge at the foul line, making 19 of 24 attempts compared to 9 of 16 for the Highlanders. CCU’s Gillis made all eight of his.

CCU had its biggest lead of 10 points with 9:52 left in the first half before Radford rallied to lead 33-32 at the break. The Chanticleers grabbed the lead for good with 15 minutes left. Radford was within two points with 2:44 left but the Chanticleers made eight unanswered free throws to clinch the win.
