DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Malik Jackson scored a career-high 27 points to snap a 17-game losing streak and lead Bethune-Cookman to a 69-63 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore Saturday.
Jackson shot 8 of 10 from the field and hit five 3-pointers as the Wildcats won their first Mid-Eastern Athletic conference game of the season. Clemmye Owens added 20 points and four 3-pointers for Bethune-Cookman (3-19, 1-6), which combined for 12-of-22 shooting behind the 3-point arc.
The Wildcats trailed 32-25 at the half, but outscored the Hawks 44-31 in the final 20 minutes. Isaac Smith III hit a jumper with a minute remaining to pull Maryland-Eastern Shore within four, but two free throws from Jackson and another from Travis Elliot finalized the outcome.

The Hawks (2-15, 0-5) have lost 13 in a row and are still looking for their first conference win.
