CLEVELAND (AP) — The Indians have agreed to a minor league contract with catcher Luke Carlin, who is returning to Cleveland’s organization.

Carlin’s deal includes an invitation to major league spring training camp. The 33-year-old spent time with the Indians and their Triple-A affiliate from 2010-12. He played in 10 games for Cleveland during that span.

Last season, Carlin played for Triple-A Salt Lake, hitting, .230 with four homers 29 RBIs in 77 games. Carlin has played in 56 career games over four seasons with San Diego, Arizona and Cleveland.

With Carlos Santana likely to move to third base, Carlin gives the Indians depth at catcher behind presumed starter Yan Gomes.
