Girls basketball: Washougal 63, R.A. Long 53

Alyssa Blankenship scored 21 points and Haley Briggs added 18 to pace the Panthers in their win over the visiting Lumberjacks.

Washougal, second in the 2A Greater St. Helens League standings at 3-1, gradually built a lead throughout the game.

Blankenship had six rebounds and four steals, and Briggs added five steals and five rebounds for the Panthers (10-4 overall).

Sarah Leudke scored 20 points for R.A. Long (6-8, 1-3), but 13 of them came in the fourth quarter after Washougal had control of the contest.
