Detroit uses 2nd-half run to beat Milwaukee 73-54

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Juwan Howard, Jr. had 24 points and eight rebounds and Detroit used a big second-half run to pull away from Milwaukee for a 73-54 win.

Evan Bruinsma made 1 of 2 free throws with 9:35 left which capped 10 straight points by Detroit to take a 54-40 lead.

Steve McWhorter broke the streak for Milwaukee with a free throw 11 seconds later, but Detroit rolled off another six points to cap a 16-1 run and a 60-41 advantage with 5:05 left.

Jarod Williams had 16 points, Matthew Grant had 12 points and Bruinsma had 10 rebounds for the Titans (9-12, 2-4 Horizon League) who held Milwaukee to 31 percent shooting overall.

The Panthers (13-9, 3-5) were just 4 of 21 from 3-point range with 18 turnovers and no player scoring in double figures. Steve McWhorter, Jordan Aaron and J.J. Panoske each had 9 points.
