Why: Coffee Villa, owned and operated by the Selivanow family, will celebrate its fourth anniversary in March. In addition to beverages common at a coffee shop, Coffee Villa also has protein shakes, smoothies, snack items and a limited assortment of deli sandwiches.
Atmosphere: Customers place orders at the front of the coffee shop and pick up their orders at an adjacent counter along the hall. The hallway leads to the back living room area where most of the seating is located near a fireplace. The space is roomy. It offers plenty of comfortable upholstered chairs and a few tables and chairs that will accommodate larger groups. The decor feels somewhat like a quick-set living room. Most of the colors used on the walls are rich, dark, and earthy, accented by a few lighter shades. Walls are decorated with collections of photos, art and coffee sacks. Coffee Villa also has a convenient drive-up window.
What I tried: I tried the ghiotto panino and a black-and-white mocha. The panino is made with bacon, grilled chicken breast, avocado dressing, mayonnaise and Havarti. I was pleased to discover the panino wasn’t greasy on the grilled side of the bread. It was, instead, nicely crisp and lightly toasted. The ingredients were well-balanced and the flavors complementary to one another. I found it large enough to satisfy a moderate appetite, and it was accompanied by two small pepperoncini, which added some zing to the experience.
The black-and-white mocha, one of their popular beverages, was a very sweet, rich blend of white and milk chocolate with the essence of espresso throughout.
