UNLV handles Utah State 62-42

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Deville Smith scored 18 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead UNLV past Utah State 62-42 on Wednesday.

UNLV (12-7, 3-3 Mountain West) got 13 points and 14 rebounds from Roscoe Smith. The Rebels shot 38 percent and hit on 7 of 22 beyond the arc.

Jarred Shaw led Utah State (12-6, 2-4) with 14 points and eight rebounds. The Aggies were outrebounded 44-29 and made just 2 of 17 3-point attempts.

Utah State led early, but UNLV went on a 10-2 run to go up by five at 24-19, then scored the final 10 points before intermission — including treys by Smith and Jelan Kendrick — to lead 34-24 at the break.

Utah State was limited to one basket in the first 4:48 of the second half and had just 18 points in the frame.
