WASHINGTON (AP) — The Boston Celtics are sticking with the plan to sit Rajon Rondo on the second half of back-to-back games.

Coach Brad Stevens said Rondo would not play in Wednesday night’s game against the Washington Wizards. Rondo played 26 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to the Miami Heat and missed all eight of his shots from the field.

Stevens said Rondo was tired but that there were no structural problems with the point guard’s knee.

Rondo tore his right ACL nearly a year ago. He has played in three games since returning Friday.

Stevens also said the Celtics’ other starting guard, Avery Bradley, is “probably out a couple of weeks” with a sprained right ankle suffered against the Heat.

Guard Jerryd Bayless sat out Wednesday’s game with a sprained left big toe.
