KITZBUEHEL, Austria (AP) — Organizers have canceled Wednesday’s training for the classic men’s World Cup downhill on the Streif course because of the mild weather softening the snow.
The International Ski Federation says the session has been called off “due to the lack of cold temperatures and the present critical snow condition.”
The race is scheduled for Saturday, and the cancellation leaves organizers with Thursday as the only option to stage the mandatory downhill training without having to change the event’s schedule. A super-G and a combined event are on the program for Friday and a slalom for Sunday.
