CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Josh Cameron scored 24 points and Warren Gillis and Elijah Wilson both added 17 each as Coastal Carolina pulled away in the second half to beat Presbyterian 84-72 on Wednesday night.
Presbyterian (4-16, 0-5 Big South) led by as many as nine in the first half, but the Chanticleers climbed within one at the break. Gillis, Cameron and Wilson each scored a basket to open up the second half, and an 11-3 run put Coastal Carolina up 66-55 with 6:34 to go.
The Chanticleers (10-9, 3-2) shot 67.5 percent (27 of 40) from the floor and held a 33-16 advantage on the glass, with 28 of those boards coming from the defensive end.
Jordan Downing finished with 28 points (10 of 24) for the Blue Hose, including six 3-pointers. Presbyterian combined to shoot 43.4 percent (23 of 53) and grabbed just four offensive rebounds.
