Battle Ground — Prairie High School’s weight room will be pumped up now that it has been given a $10,000 grant from the TODAY Foundation. The foundation supports youth athletics in Southwest Washington. The grant was presented to the Battle Ground Public Schools board at its Jan. 13 meeting. “For the past two years, we have been working on developing the Speed and Strength Training program at Prairie,” teacher and coach Michael Thyron told the board. “This money, in addition to the $5,000 set aside by PHS, will buy new equipment so we can implement this program.”
