POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Adam Kemp scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds as Marist overcame a 6-point halftime deficit to top St. Peter’s 70-63 on Monday.
Marist (6-12, 3-5 Metro Atlantic) took advantage at the foul line, where it made 15 more free throws than St. Peter’s. Khallid Hart had 15 points, while Chavaughn Lewis added 14 and T.J. Curry had 10.
Marvin Dominique led St. Peter’s (7-10, 3-5) with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Trevis Wyche had 13, Chris Burke scored 10 and Desi Washington added 11.
St. Peter’s took an early 10-6 lead after a Burke 3-pointer and kept Marist at arm’s length the rest of the half en route to a 31-25 lead at the break.
Marist clawed back and the game was tied at 47 with 7:22 left when T.J. Curry buried a trey to start a 12-2 run to seize a 10-point lead.
