GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (AP) — A men’s World Cup downhill and a giant slalom scheduled for Feb. 1-2 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen have been moved to St. Moritz because there is no snow in the southern German resort.

The last men’s races before the Sochi Olympics will now be held in the Swiss resort on the same dates.

Mild weather also forced Garmisch-Partenkirchen organizers to cancel women’s races slated for Jan. 25-26. They have been moved to Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.

The last time St. Moritz staged men’s races was at the 2003 World Championships when Bode Miller of the United States won the giant slalom gold medal.
