SE Louisiana blows past Lamar 91-65

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — JaMichael Hawkins scored 25 points, 18 of those from 3-point range, in leading Southeastern Louisiana to a 91-65 rout of Lamar on Saturday.

Hawkins was 7-of-12 shooting, with 6 of 8 coming from long range while Onochie Ochie scored 13 for the Lions. SE Louisiana shot 57 percent from the field.

SE Louisiana (8-9, 3-3 Southland) stormed Lamar (1-17, 0-6) out of the gate and gathered a 47-27 lead by the half.

SE Louisiana upped that point spread to 27 points with 2:35 left in the second period on a Quin Cooper 3-pointer. The Lions slowed the pace going into the buzzer but still ended with a 26 point margin over the Cardinals, who have now lost 14 straight games.

Lamar was led in scoring by Donovan Ross with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Amos Wilson scored 14 while Nimrod Hilliard and Rhon Mitchell had 12 points each.
