NC Central tops Delaware State 62-52

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Jeremy Ingram scored 20 points as N.C. Central topped Delaware State 62-52 on Saturday.

The Eagles (11-5, 2-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) got 13 points from Jordan Parks while Alfonzo Houston added 10. N.C. Central shot 50 percent from the floor despite going 3 of 12 from beyond the arc and 11 of 21 (52 percent) from the line.

Delaware State (4-13, 0-5) was led by Casey Walker and Tyshawn Bell, who both scored 13 points. Bell pulled down nine rebounds and the Hornets shot 36 percent as a team.

N.C. Central led by as much as 14 in the first half en route to a 32-21 advantage at the break.

But Delaware State clawed back after intermission and after an 11-0 run took a 1-point lead at 39-38 with 10:11 left in the game.

N.C. Central regrouped, scoring the next four points on Ingram free throws, and never trailed again.
