MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Mike Scott scored a career-high 20 points, including a pair of free throws with 3 seconds left, to go with six assists and five rebounds as Idaho beat Cal State Bakersfield 64-61 Saturday night.
Scott hit 7 of 9 from the field and 4 of 6 from 3-point range. Stephen Madison added 20 points and Connor Hill finished with 16 points.
Idaho (8-12, 2-4 Western Athletic Conference) trailed 48-41 with 9:56 to play but used a 14-5 run in which Scott, Madison and Hill scored every point, to take a two-point lead just over 4 minutes later.
The game stayed tight over the next few minutes and Issiah Grayson hit two free throws with 4 seconds to play, pulling Cal State Bakersfield (8-10, 1-3) within 62-61 before Scott iced the game a second later.
Grayson scored 20 points, on 7-of-10 shooting, and had seven assists in the loss.
