SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Avery Holmes’s jumper with a half second left in the game lifted San Francisco to a 64-62 win over San Diego Saturday night, snapping a two-game losing streak.
San Diego tried to in-bound the ball to leading-scorer Johnny Dee near mid-court in hopes of getting off a shot, but the play failed.
Holmes scored with 27 seconds left to give San Francisco a three-point lead, 62-59.
Christopher Anderson answered for the Toreros to pull within one and Thomas Jacobs was fouled after stealing the ball, hitting the first of two free throws to make it 62-62.
Holmes scored 15 points to lead San Francisco (12-8, 5-3 West Coast), with Kruize Pinkins adding 14 and Cole Dickerson contributing 10.
