DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Mark Nwakamma scored 18 points Saturday and Wes Cole added 17 as Hartford beat the University of New Hampshire 60-43 on the road for its second American East Conference win of the season.
Yolonzo Moore II scored 15 points and Hartford (8-11, 2-2) outshot New Hampshire (3-14, 1-3) 40 percent to 33 percent. Oren Faulk grabbed seven rebounds and Cole shot 5 of 9 from beyond the arc.
The lead traded hands six times in the first half until Moore’s trey at 1:30 put Hartford up 25-19 at halftime. The Hawks pulled ahead in the second half and led by 50-40 at 5:24 on another trey by Moore.
The Wildcats were hurt by 16 turnovers, which the Hawks converted into 20 points. Hartford shot 38 percent from long range on 9-of-24 shooting to 27 percent for the Wildcats (6 of 22)
Jacoby Armstrong led UNH with 13 points.
