RADFORD, Va. (AP) — Ya Ya Anderson scored 19 points and Javonte Green added 17 with 19 rebounds as Radford led start-to-finish in a 93-76 defeat of Longwood on Saturday.
The Highlanders (13-6, 3-1 Big South) were at the free-throw line inside the game’s first minute, hitting 25 of 28, and led by as many as 14 before halftime.
Longwood (5-14, 0-4) cut the lead to single digits several time, coming as close as 51-49 on a 7-0 run early in the second half, but it seemed Radford had an answer each time. All five Highlanders starters scored in double figures — Brandon Holcomb with 14, R.J. Price 13 and Kyle Noreen 10.
Price and Anderson each hit three 3-pointers and Radford shot 49.2 percent from the field (31-63).
Tristan Carey led the Lancers with 27 points — going 5-for-9 from 3-point range — and Lucas Woodhouse added 17 points with 12 assists.
