BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Aaron Anderson scored 18 points, Troy Huff added 13 as North Dakota held on to defeat Montana State 72-69 Saturday night.
Flavien Davis scored a layup and was fouled to pull Montana State within 70-69 with 48 seconds to play, but he missed the ensuing free throw. Anderson then answered with two free throws to cap the scoring. Stephan Holm missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with 3 seconds left for Montana State.
Anderson hit a 3-pointer to give North Dakota its largest lead, 54-43 with 16:37 remaining. He finished 5 of 10 from the field, including four 3-pointers. North Dakota (6-10, 3-3 Big Sky) won its first road game of the season.
Davis scored 10 of his 25 points in the final five minutes to lead Montana State (9-8, 4-2 Big Sky). Paul Eqwuonwu added 14 points for the Bobcats.
