NEW YORK (AP) — La Verdad won her fifth straight race Friday with another decisive run, capturing the $64,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares at Aqueduct.
The 4-year-old trained by Linda Rice debuted last March at Aqueduct with a fourth-place finish and is undefeated since.
Jose Ortiz guided the 1-5 favorite to a 234-length victory over Masasi in 1:10.46 for the 6 furlongs on the fast track.
La Verdad paid $2.60, $2.20 and $2.10. Masasi returned $2.80 and $2.20 while Exclusive Warrior paid $3.10 to show.
