BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) — Police have arrested a soccer fan after pages were torn out of a Quran and thrown during a game.
West Midlands Police say the incident happened at the second-tier League Championship game between Birmingham and Middlesbrough on Dec. 7.
Police say the unnamed 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred. He has since been released on bail and banned from attending any soccer matches while the investigation continues.
