Austin Springer of Vancouver will headline a mixed martial arts show on Saturday at the Red Lion Inn at the Quay in Vancouver.
Springer will take on Dylan Atkinson of Gresham in the 135-pound professional main event. Springer, 26, owns Gladiator MMA in Vancouver. He is 4-0 in professional fights.
Saturday’s show features four professional fights and eight amateur bouts, each involving a Clark County fighter. The event in the Centennial Center at the hotel is being staged by Main Event Sports. Tickets range from $35 for general admission to $55 for ringside seats.
Springer most recently won a Bellatore Fighting match, his first dropping to 135 pounds. He and Atkinson (2-1 as a pro) both were successful amateur fighters in Portland’s Full Contact Fighting Federation, though at different weights so they have never met.
The other professional fights on Saturday feature Jake Thomas of Vancouver (0-2) against Zane Behrend of Portland (1-0) at 145 pounds, Clemente Bosch of Vancouver in his pro debut against Brandon Kesler of Kelso (0-2) at 185 pounds, and Rick Simon of Vancouver in his pro debut against Alex Eastman of Ellensburg (0-1) at 135.
The amateur card is highlighted by a 135-pound fight between Dave Robinson of Vancouver (4-0) and Jake Marshall of Portland 8-0.
The other amateur fights are Luke Smith of Vancouver against John Heilman of Longview (125 pounds), Travis Trent of Vancouver against Brandon Anderson of Longview (185), Keil Heckler of Vancouver against Kody Kramer of Gresham (155), Amin Kajtaz of Vancouver against Koty Cox of Chehalis (170), Andrei Zaytsef of Vancouver against Thomas English of Portland (205), Dylan Blakesley of Vancouver against Jesse Lane of Salem (125) and a women’s 140-pound fight between Veronica Wickersham of Gresham and Becca Franklin of Rainier, Ore.
