CLEVELAND (AP) — Trey Lewis scored a career-high 29 points on Thursday night and Cleveland State scored on its final six possessions to beat Oakland 86-76.
Cleveland State (11-8, 3-2 Horizon League) opened a 12-0 run and took the lead for good at 76-73 on Jon Harris’ 3-pointer with 2:34 left in the game. Harris capped the same run with a dunk to put the Vikings up 85-73 with 24 seconds left.
Harris had 16 points and seven rebounds, Bryn Forbes added 15 points and Charlie Lee scored 11.
Oakland took control of the game with a 15-2 run to go ahead 67-59 with 7:49 left. Cleveland State answered with an 11-2 run to go back in front 70-69 less than 3 minutes later.
Corey Petros had 15 points and 13 rebounds and Tommie McCune scored 23 points to lead the Grizzlies (7-13, 2-3).
