CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Marathon will use a lottery to register for this year’s race.

The marathon website says registration will be from March 5 to April 7, with entrants learning their selection status on April 14. Duplicate entries are not allowed. The field will be capped at 45,000 runners.

Certain groups of runners won’t have to enter the lottery. This includes runners participating for charity, wheelchair athletes, runners with certain time qualifications and international tour program participants. It also includes runners who have finished the Chicago Marathon five times within the last 10 years.

The marathon used a lottery last year after registration was suspended due to technical issues.
