PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Erik Chinander is Oregon’s new outside linebackers coach.

Chinander most recently served as an assistant defensive line coach for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles under former Oregon coach Chip Kelly. Before that he was an intern and graduate assistant at Oregon.

Outside linebackers had been overseen by defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti, who stepped down following this season.

The Ducks also announced on Wednesday that secondary coach John Neal also will serve as the defense’s passing game coordinator. Neal had earlier turned down an interview for the head coaching job at Alabama-Birmingham.

Neal has been with Oregon since 2003.
