NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Devon Saddler scored 21 of his 26 points after halftime — including going 8-for-8 at the free-throw line in the final 34 seconds — as Delaware rallied past William & Mary Wednesday night.
The Fightin’ Blue Hens (11-7, 3-0 Colonial Athletic Conference) fell behind early and trailed by as many as 13 in the first half but rallied to win their fifth straight. Saddler started the comeback with two straight buckets to open the second half and cut the deficit to 38-36, and added a dunk for a 43-41 lead — the Blue Hens first since the early minutes of the game.
Davon Usher scored 21 and Jarvis Threatt 15 for Delaware. An Usher 3-pointer gave the Blue Hens the lead for good at 56-54 at 9:29 remaining.
Tim Rusthoven led the Tribe (9-6, 1-2) with 13 points. Terry Tarpey notched his first double-double — 10 points and 10 boards.
