AARP Tax-Aide seeks volunteers to assist with tax preparation. Computer skills are required. Volunteers help clients one-on-one from Feb. 1 to April 15 at various Clark County sites. AARP Tax-Aide is also looking for client facilitators to greet customers and perform initial screenings. Client facilitators do not prepare tax returns, and computer skills are not required.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for people to be a friend to a child. In the community-based program, adult volunteers and their “little” meet a couple of times per month. In the after-school program, which is more structured, adults meet their “little” for an hour three or four times a month at the child’s school.

Clark Public Utilities — Clark Stream Team seeks tour leaders to educate fourth- and fifth-grade students about the water cycle and environmental science, and provide hands-on activities. Volunteers are also needed to help bring salmon back to the Salmon Creek Watershed, by helping at restoration events throughout the year.

Innovative Services NW is looking for volunteers to help in classrooms and with childcare.

Silver Buckle Ranch seeks volunteers to help with mentoring, riding lessons, and other programs.

• The city of Vancouver seeks to fill three vacancies on the Parking Advisory Committee and two vacancies on the Salary Review Commission.

Applicants for the Parking Advisory Committee must be either city residents or property owners, business owners, or an officer or partner in a business located in the downtown area. One member may be an employee of a downtown business.

Applicants for the Salary Review Commission must be city of Vancouver residents and registered voters. No city officer, official, employee or immediate family member of any city officer, official or employee is eligible for membership.

• The Clark Conservation District seeks to fill two volunteer positions on its board for three-year terms. The board meets from 7 to 9 a.m. on the first Thursday of each month, plus one evening per quarter, or as needed. Eligible candidates must be registered voters occupying land within the district.
