High school sophomores and juniors interested in attending Running Start classes beginning in the fall can learn about the program at one of two identical informational sessions from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, or Wednesday, Feb. 5, in the O’Connell Sports Center’s gymnasium at Clark College, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.
Running Start allows eligible juniors and seniors to earn college credit at Clark College while they fulfill their high school graduation requirements. It can significantly reduce the cost of a four-year college degree. Students pay for books, transportation, and some fees, but do not pay tuition.
They can attend either part time or full time. Fee waivers and limited textbook assistance are available for students demonstrating financial need.
Some very motivated students earn their associate degree from Clark and their high school diploma concurrently. Last fall, Clark enrolled a record 1,904 Running Start students.
