HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Green Hill had 13 points and eight rebounds as Alabama A&M pulled away in the final 3 minutes to beat Mississippi Valley State 68-59 on Monday night.
Alabama A&M finished the game on an 8-1 run. Even though the Bulldogs struggled with 4-of-10 free-throw shooting over that span, MVSU squandered its chances with two costly turnovers.
Hill scored nine of his 13 points over the final 7 minutes. The Bulldogs led 52-51 when Hill scored six straight points to extend the lead to seven. MVSU answered with a 7-2 run, pulling the Delta Devils within 60-58 with 3:09 to play.
The game was tied in the second half at 36, 38, 40, 42, and 44.
Arthur Capers added 12 points for Alabama A&M (6-8, 3-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference).
Anthony McDonald had 14 points, James Currington scored 13 and DeAngelo Priar added 12 for MVSU (4-12, 0-3).
