The first Second Saturday event of 2014 will explore a winter’s night, which animals are out and about, the sounds they make and how they move. Second Saturdays explore a different topic each month through hands-on activities, crafts and games for children and their families. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

2. Celtic benefit performance
The Winds and Strings Celtic band will present its seventh annual concerts to benefit the Winter Hospitality Overflow shelter program. Joining the ensemble will be Scottish piper Sophie Anna Mcduffey. The concerts will feature songs from its debut CD. There will be two performances today at St. Andrew Lutheran Church and one performance Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
