Pacific knocks off Santa Clara 80-68

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) — Sama Taku scored 19 points as Pacific knocked off Santa Clara 80-68 on Saturday.

Pacific (10-6, 1-4) got support from Andrew Bock with 16 points and Trevin Harris chipped in with 13. The Tigers shot 54 percent from the floor, including 6 of 14 from beyond the arc.

Santa Clara (10-9, 3-3) was led by Brandon Clark with 20 points, while Evan Roquemore added 19. The Broncos hit just 35 percent from the field and went 8 of 24 on 3-pointers.

Santa Clara started slowly, failing to score in the first 6:02 of the game. The Broncos came back to take a short-lived lead at 24-23 with 5:17 in the first, but Pacific countered and finished the half on a 10-5 run to lead 33-29 at intermission.

Pacific raced out to an 8-0 run at the start of the second half and led the rest of the way.
