FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons have hired Bryan Cox from Tampa Bay as defensive line coach.
Cox replaces Ray Hamilton, who was fired after a 4-12 season.
Cox coached the Buccaneers’ defensive front seven and served as the pass rush specialist the last two seasons. Cox helped develop such players as defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who had 14 sacks the last two seasons.
He previously held positions with the Jets, Browns and Dolphins. He served as pass rush specialist with the Dolphins in 2011 and was defensive line coach with the Browns in 2009-10 and with the Jets from 2006-08.
On Wednesday, the Falcons named Mike Tice to replace Pat Hill and Paul Dunn as offensive line coach.
