PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh is producing similar results following its move from the Big East to the ACC
The Panthers are 14-1 this season and 2-0 in their new conference heading into Saturday’s game against Wake Forest (11-4, 1-1). While Pitt continues to rely on defense and rebounding, the Panthers also are producing at the other end of the floor.
Pittsburgh is averaging 77 points a game thanks in part to the rapid maturation of youngsters like sophomore guard Durand Johnson, and freshman forwards Jamel Artis and Michael Young.
Johnson scored a career-high 17 in a 20-point romp over Maryland on Monday, though coach Jamie Dixon says he’s just as impressed with Johnson’s development as an all-around player.
