Portland police are looking for a serial bank robber who has apparently struck 11 area banks over the last three months, including one in Vancouver.
Nicknamed the “Short Stack Bandit,” he’s described as a man in his late 20s, five feet, four inches to five feet, eight inches tall, about 160 to 190 pounds. He has some facial hair and usually wears a baseball hat and hooded sweatshirt.
On Oct. 29, the “Short Stack Bandit” allegedly robbed iQ Credit Union, 7017 N.E. Vancouver Mall Drive, the second institution Portland police say he hit. The rest of the banks are in Portland and one is in Gresham.
Crime Stoppers offers up to $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case. The Oregon Financial Institutions Security Taskforce, an organization that helps reduce crimes against Oregon financial institutions, offers up to $5,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
