BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — California defensive tackle Viliami Moala is skipping his senior season to enter the NFL draft.
Cal confirmed on Friday that Moala would be the fourth player to leave school early.
Moala joins defensive back Kameron Jackson, linebacker Khairi Fortt and tight end Richard Rodgers as underclassmen entering the NFL draft. The deadline for deciding whether to declare for the draft is next Wednesday.
Moala started 11 games last season and had career highs of 37 tackles, four tackles for loss and 112 sacks on a defense that allowed the second-most points in the FBS on the way to a 1-11 record, including 0-9 in Pac-12 play.
Cal announced earlier this week that coordinator Andy Buh was being demoted to a position coach.
