MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Chicago Bulls signed Cartier Martin to a 10-day contract three days after the forward was waived by the Atlanta Hawks.
The 6-foot-7 Martin joined the team in Milwaukee before Friday night’s game against the Bucks. Martin averaged 6.6 points in 25 games this season for Atlanta, including two starts.
The signing fills a roster spot vacated after the Bulls traded forward Luol Deng this week to Cleveland for center Andrew Bynum and three future draft picks. The Bucks then waived Bynum.
Coach Tom Thibodeau said he liked Martin’s versatility and perimeter shooting. Martin is a career 38 percent shooter from 3-point range in six NBA seasons.
