BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (AP) — Bobby Brown and Keri Herman won a weathered-shortened skiing slopestyle event at the U.S. Grand Prix.
Given the heavy snow and low visibility, the race jury decided to cancel the final on Friday, making the qualifying marks the official results in accordance to FIS Freestyle rules. Brown and Herman were anointed the winners as they try to make the U.S. Olympic team.
Nick Goepper wound up fifth at the event. So far, he’s the only U.S. slopestyle skier who’s sewn up a spot on the team. The final two competitions will be at the U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix in Park City, Utah.
Brown said he “wanted to ski” but officials “made their call and I’m definitely excited, but it’s kind of a weird feeling, winning out of qualifiers.”
