Boys basketball: Ridgefield 64, Washougal 52

Ridgefield went 10 for 10 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to rally past Washougal in the 2A Greater St. Helens League opener for both teams.

“That was one of the things I was most proud of team,” Ridgefield coach Nick Veys said of his team’s fourth-quarter foul shooting. “We were pretty clutch.”

Washougal led 42-38 after three quarters.

Neil Biggerstaff had 26 points and seven rebounds to lead the Spudders.

“We starting rebounding the ball in the fourth quarter and really found our rhythm,” Veys said. “And Biggerstaff was big in that quarter, too.”

David Potter added 10 points and eight assists for Ridgefield. Austin Tran led Washougal with 19 points.
