ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have re-signed veteran punter Brian Moorman to a one-year contract extension that locks him up through next season.

The deal, reached on Friday, allows Moorman to return for a 14th season in Buffalo. It also represents a vote of confidence for the two-time Pro Bowl selection, who returned to Buffalo in October following a one-year absence, to replace Shawn Powell.

In 11 games, Moorman finished 30th in the NFL with 36.6 net yards per punt and landed 16 inside opponents’ 20.

Speaking by phone, Moorman was pleased to continue his career with the Bills. And he looked forward to the opportunity to spend a full offseason working with special teams coordinator Danny Crossman.

Moorman is a popular figure in Buffalo for his involvement in local charities.
