NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans now have interviewed both of Cincinnati’s coordinators in their search for a new coach.
The Titans confirmed Thursday they have finished interviewing Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer two days after interviewing Cincinnati offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. The Redskins introduced Gruden as their new coach Thursday.
The team’s plane picked Zimmer up Thursday morning outside Cincinnati, and the plane left Nashville for Cincinnati just before 5 p.m. EST.
Zimmer has been Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator since 2008, and his defense ranked No. 3 overall this season. He also was defensive coordinator at Atlanta in 2007 and also was defensive coordinator with the Dallas Cowboys. He interviewed with Miami and Tampa Bay in 2012 and with Cleveland in 2013.
