GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — Derrick Barden scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Northern Colorado rolled to a 70-51 win over Weber State in a Big Sky Conference matchup on Thursday night.
Barden had nine points during a 13-4 Northern Colorado run to finish the first half as the Bears took a 35-26 halftime lead. Northern Colorado (9-3, 3-0) led by as many as 22 in the second half, shooting 48.3 percent from the field in the half compared with just 29.4 percent for Weber State (5-6, 2-1).
The Bears shot 50 percent from the field in the game, including 7 of 15 from 3-point range.
Tevin Svihovec scored 15 for Northern Colorado, hitting 3 of 4 from long range. Tim Huskisson added 12 points and five assists while Tate Unruh had 10 points.
Kyle Tresnak scored 14 points and Davion Berry 13 for the Wildcats. Joel Bolomboy had 10 points and 14 rebounds.
